Technical Support Engineer
Location: Broughton (on‑site) Hours: 35 hours per week, 4.5‑day pattern (between 7am–7pm) Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security) IR35: Inside
Join Us as a Technical Support Engineer We’re partnering with Airbus to find a proactive Technical Support Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping production moving smoothly by resolving technical issues, supporting shop‑floor teams, and contributing to operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing As a Technical Support Engineer, you’ll provide vital lineside support to ensure aircraft production runs efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include:
Daily Shop‑Floor & Lineside Support
Providing hands‑on technical support to resolve issues such as missing parts, non‑conformities, concessions, outstanding work and tooling matters.
Supporting work‑order management, including out‑of‑cycle tasks and identifying blocked work orders.
Escalating issues to specialist teams (Work Prep, PPE, Maintenance, MAP and Outstanding Work) when required.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Contributing to lean initiatives and helping identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve shop‑floor processes.
Supporting analysis of industrial systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Quality, Safety & Logistics Support
Helping ensure production and quality standards are maintained at all stations.
Supporting the communication and application of EH&S rules and identifying near‑misses.
Assisting with the prioritisation of materials linked to rework orders.
Tools, Jigs & Asset Support
Assisting in creation or modification requests for new tools, jigs and small tooling repairs.
What We’re Looking For This role is ideal for someone with strong practical engineering experience and a passion for problem‑solving.
Essential Experience
Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing, aviation, production or lineside environment.
Strong understanding of production processes, engineering methods and technical issue resolution.
A systematic, organised approach with excellent analytical and practical problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic environment.
