Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Assistant

Location: RAF Brize Norton
Contract: 6 months, with the potential for extension
Hours: 35 hours per week, worked across 4.5 days between 7.00am and 7.00pm. Working hours will be agreed in line with business requirements.
Pay rate: £19.12 per hour PAYE or £25.58 per hour Umbrella
Security clearance: BPSS+ clearance required, completed by Airbus Security
IR35 status: Inside


The opportunity
Guidant Global is recruiting a Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Assistant to support maintenance operations at RAF Brize Norton.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy defence and aerospace environment, helping aircraft maintenance teams operate efficiently and effectively. You will coordinate materials, tooling and equipment across the logistical holding area and maintenance environment, ensuring that everything required for daily aircraft maintenance activities is available, correctly controlled and positioned.

Working under the direction of the Support Maintenance Manager, you will play an important part in the successful daily delivery of maintenance support tasks while ensuring that company procedures, quality standards and hangar requirements are consistently maintained.

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Deliver aircraft materials and supporting items between the hub and the hangar.
  • Manage the receipt, control and return of aircraft materials.
  • Complete quality checks on all associated materials paperwork.
  • Ensure maintenance equipment and accessories are correctly positioned within maintenance areas in accordance with the Sigma process.
  • Coordinate consumable and expendable materials within the maintenance area.
  • Support the management of the logistical holding area, tooling and associated maintenance equipment.
  • Work closely with the maintenance leadership team to maintain the required standards of aircraft hangar husbandry.
  • Manage day-to-day tasking and follow up short-term actions.
  • Interpret and respond effectively to stakeholder expectations and operational requirements.
  • Take ownership of problems and provide clear, authoritative answers when working under pressure.
  • Help sustain a high level of customer satisfaction through reliable and responsive support.

Desirable requirement
  • A valid forklift licence.
