Quality Lineside Engineer – Airbus, Broughton
Location: Broughton (onsite)
Pay rate: £24.64 per hour (PAYE) / £32.96 per hour (Umbrella)– inside IR35
Shift pattern: Double Days, alternating weekly – mornings 06:00–13:10 / afternoons 13:30–20:40, plus 20% shift uplift
Security clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus Security)

Guidant Global is recruiting on behalf of Airbus UK for an experienced Quality Lineside Engineer to join the Quality Team at their Broughton site. This is a genuine opportunity to work at the heart of one of the world's leading aerospace manufacturers, taking ownership of conformity across products, processes and services.
You'll be the point of assurance on the lineside floor – interpreting drawings, leading root-cause investigations, and making sure the right corrective action happens fast, every time.

You'll be the point of assurance on the lineside floor – interpreting drawings, leading root-cause investigations, and making sure the right corrective action happens fast, every time.
What you'll be doing
- Providing specialist Quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes and support services, independently assuring that Quality requirements are met
- Ensuring the Quality system is adhered to across the business through surveillance activities
- Ensuring certification processes are consistently defined and applied
- Coordinating and leading reported quality and technical issues from business teams and customers, ensuring the accountable function takes corrective and preventive action and keeping the originator informed
- Carrying out initial investigations into events, QLBs and non-conformances to identify probable root cause, aiming to resolve within one shift through multifunctional problem-solving activities
- Investigating the probable root cause of deficiencies identified during process confirmation activities, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken
- Compiling and presenting Quality overviews to the leadership team
This role is about proven Quality experience rather than formal qualifications.
Essential:
- Solid Quality experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience of tools such as PPS, 5-Why or Ishikawa (fishbone) analysis
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to challenge constructively while maintaining strong working relationships
- Data analysis skills – able to interpret data sets and graphical data to draw sound conclusions
- Comfortable working as part of an integrated, cross-functional team
- Quality or engineering-based background within a major manufacturing industry, ideally aerospace
- Automotive, manufacturing or production experience gained with a large organisation will also be considered
